WEST IN THE GROOVE
Varsity | Mixed
"West in the Groove" is one of three show choirs at MW.
It combines elements of advanced singing, dancing, and performing in a high-energy twenty-minute show. WIG competes in various show choir competitions throughout the midwest in the spring. WIG rehearses twice a week in the evening with extra rehearsals and camps added as needed. Placement in this group requires a successful audition and enrollment in one of the large curricular choirs.
UPTOWN
Varsity | Treble
"Uptown" is one of three show choirs at MW.
It combines elements of singing, dancing, and performing in a high-energy fifteen-minute show. Uptown competes in various show choir competitions throughout the midwest in the spring. Uptown rehearses twice a week in the evening with extra rehearsals and camps added as needed. Placement in this group requires a successful audition and enrollment in one of the large curricular choirs.
SWING CATS
Junior Varsity | Mixed
"Swing Cats" is one of three show choirs at MW.
It combines elements of singing, dancing, and performing in a high-energy twenty-minute show. SCATS competes in various show choir competitions throughout the midwest in the spring. SCATS rehearses once a week in the evening with extra rehearsals and camps added as needed. Placement in this group requires a successful audition and enrollment in one of the large curricular choirs.
SHOW BAND & ROADIES
Instrumentalists | Stage Crew
The three show bands and roadies are integral to the success of each show. Snazz Cats (Scats), Fine Musicians (Uptown),
and Groovehouse (WIG) bring the shows to life.
Placement in these groups require a successful audition.
No enrollment in a choir is needed for membership.
